Low Delay Processing and Speech Intelligibility
Eric Branda, PhD, WS Audiology

With amplification for hearing loss, it is inherent that there will be manipulation of sound. Some aspects of amplification, such as processing delay, can lead to distortions in the sound that may reduce speech clarity. If background noise provides additional competition to the speech signal, intelligibility can be impacted. With PureSound technology from Widex, processing delay in minimized to provide more natural sound. In this presentation, we will discuss advantages associated with low delay processing for speech intelligibility.
